Find your local
campaign group

Across the UK, there are already more than 60 groups working for divestment, and anyone anywhere can get campaigning within their local community to kick fossil fuels out of our councils.

Divest groups are grassroots networks of local people campaigning for their local authority’s pension fund to divest from fossil fuels. All groups are different, but most groups hold regular meetings, host public events, co-ordinate petitions, and communicate regularly with their local authority.

These groups are run by hundreds of volunteers from all backgrounds, including teachers, nurses, lawyers, students, grandparents and more. They bring people together locally to fight for the health of our planet and its inhabitants both at home and abroad.

Ask your councillors to support the call to divest

If you’re not ready to join a campaign just yet, you can still support your local group by increasing the pressure on your local authority to divest its pension fund.

It only takes a minute to email your councillor using our e-action: just add your name to our template email to show your local councillor that there is an appetite for divestment in your community!
